DILG Secretary Mar Roxas has issued DILG MC 2014-121 addressed to all Provincial Governors, City Mayors, Municipal Mayors, ARMM Regional Governor, and DILG Regional Directors encouraging them to support the Observance of the 18th National Urban Pest Control Week by conducting of or participating in the Seminar-Workshop to be jointly organized by the LGUs and the National Committee on Urban Pest Control [NCUPC] on Zero Waste, Zero Pest & Zero Pollution Lifestyle in Business Establishments to gain information and skills on how to manage garbage, refuses and wastes effectively through Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Techniques using their own Material Recovery Facilities [MRF], and consequently pests and pollution as part of the 18th National Urban Pest Control Week which is part of DENR's "Clean Up The World" month.
The 18th NUPC Week is slated on September 22-28, 2014 per Presidential Proclamation 990 and 2063, and Republic Act 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
