Piercing-Sucking Activity Of Mosquito

Piercing-Sucking Activity Of Mosquito

Once attracted, the mosquito alights on the skin. All matured microbes in the body of the insect travel in the stomach and line up on its gut-lining. Then it starts producing an anesthesia-like substance from the gut, and pierces the skin [not on the pore] using its stylet until blood stream.

All microbes lining the stomach rushes first into the blood stream. Then the insect now starts sucking blood meal.

If interrupted, the mosquito flies and alights again to pierce and then suck again or it searches for another victim until abdomen is full.

When full, it starts to look for a resting place [cool and shaded/ darkened] and starts to digest the blood for about 2 days.
