Director Eligio T. Ildefonso of the National Solid Waste Management Commission [NSWMC] of the Office of the President and the Department of Environment & Natural Resources [DENR] has encouraged the Local Government Units [LGUs] to join and participate in the Seminar-Workshop to be jointly organized by the LGUs and the National Committee on Urban Pest Control [NCUPC] on Zero Waste, Zero Pest & Zero Pollution Lifestyle in Business Establishments to gain information and skills on how to manage garbage, refuses and wastes effectively through Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Techniques using their own Material Recovery Facilities [MRF], and consequently pests and pollution as part of the 18th National Urban Pest Control Week which is part of DENR's "Clean Up The World" month.
The 18th NUPC Week
is slated on September 22-28, 2014 per Presidential Proclamation 990 and
2063, Republic Act 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste
Management Act.
